Productive Weekend

What a packed weekend. We started off on Saturday morning testing the Drive M7 Bridgestone V8 powered Silvia on Saturday morning. We made some final suspension setup changes and modified the belt tensioner pulley. Everything went to plan. The car produced tremendous amount of lateral grip and finally managed to solve our belting issues. After 3 weeks of chasing our tails, we finally dialed it in and ready for Formula Drift Indonesia scheduled in 2 weeks.

Straight after testing i headed down to Sepang Circuit for the HICOM-Potenza one make race series. Qualifying was cancelled due to bad weather and grid positions for Race 1 determined through official practice on Friday. I started from pole position and pulled a 22 sec lead by the end of a very wet Race 1.

The motor never did run smoothly since Friday and the mechanics made some last min adjustments today after checking it over. We started race 2 on pole and lead for the first 6 laps. By lap 7 i noticed some white smoke blowing out from the front. I tried to keep my pace but the oil leak was severe. It got all over the rear wheels and started to pour out some serious white smoke out the rear. I pulled over at turn 3 on lap 8 and called it a day. What a weekend. We still came home with one win. Big thank you to the HICOM-Potenza team for organizing a great event. It was a great weekend. Next up, Formula Drift Indonesia.
