Bridgestone Drift Team
My trip to Bangkok was full of dramas right from the beginning. I was worried about custom clearance at the border, then Shan fell sick and had to be admitted to Bangkok International Hospital and on competition day, I spun out during qualifying!
Nevertheless, i battled it out to finish in 4th place. I crashed into Thailand’s Drift King in the Best 16 round. He spun out going into the 2nd corner and i had no where to go. My steering rack was bent due to the impact, so i was offered to drive the Bridgestone Class B Silvia and continued battling.
I would like to congratulate both my team members, Tan Tat Wei & Ivan Lau for finishing 1st & 3rd respectively. Both of you did a superb job. It was a night no short of action and dramas. Even Tat Wei had a small moment when he was tapped by the Toyo S15.
The Singaporeans couldn’t make it to Bangkok & Team Goodyear Racing Malaysia, represented by Ser Ming Hui was eliminated in the Best 16 round.
To the organizers, thanks for the great support given to Team Malaysia. It was a day to remember. Looking forward to competing in more Thai events this year.
Big thank you to all our sponsors, especially Bridgestone Tires Malaysia & Active.

Congrats for Team Bridgestone for the win. You guys done a great job and kudo’s to Tan Tat Wei for winning!
Anyway, I have a few question.
1. How does the Thai 180SX that you’ve driven feels like?
2. What happened to Ivan Lau FC3S?
3. Who did you think is your toughest opponent yet in the tsuiso battle?
Thanks in advance and cheers.

Hi Azzam,
Fai used a A31 Cefiro. The red cefiro is Team Bridgestone Thailand.

Zamil,
1) The car had a stock std SR20 and a 1 way LSD. The car felt weird and i was struggling to drive it.
2) The FC3S is still not ready for competition.
3) Difficult question. The Japanese are really fast, so it’s difficult to keep the pace. Malaysia would have to be my team mates, Ivan & Tat Wei. Both are consistent and quick. The Thai’s lack experience in Tandem drift. This makes it difficult to judge their next move.

Hi Dzal,
1) Car not too bad. We’ve already changed the steering rack. Now just fixing the door and fender.
2) The Thai drifters are good. But not enough experience in Tandem Battles. They don’t have outer clipping zones too, which they will have to adapt soon to improve the drifting stds. But overall, impressive. Especially machinery.
