Looks like StarDrift Challenge will be the only Malaysian series for 2008. Dates are confirmed. Total 5 championship rounds starting April 2008.

ROUND 3 – 12th & 13th July, Johor Bahru

M-Max Asian Drift Competition will be held on 16th March 2008 in Bangkok City organized by www.tunespeed.com, Bangkok’s premier drift organizers.

I have been invited to take part in this competition together with my team mates. So total 3 cars will represent Malaysia & an additional 2 cars from Singapore.

Event Mechanics:

 Event concept like D1 All-Star where both Malaysia & Singapore will automatically qualify for Best-16. The Thai’s will have to qualify for 11 spots, then the real qualifying begins which determines our actual qualifying position on the chart. The battle in search of the best in South East Asia in on!

BANGKOK HERE WE COME!

Special thanks to everyone who participated in the taxi ride last Sunday. Especially the Lotus crew for making sure the car was in top performance. I had a great time.

We had a total of 17 participants which equals to 5,100RM donation to charity. The Lotus did a total of 51 laps continuously from 2pm – 630pm with only 1 set of tires & brakepads. Phenomenal. Driver now recovering from a backache.

 Porsche Club Malaysia (PCM) together with Ferrari Owner’s Club (FOC), Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and the Force of Nature Aid Foundation (FON) will organise an event called ‘SUPERCAR FOR CHARITY – in aid of Malaysian Floods Victims’ on 24 February 2008 at Sepang International Circuit.

The public can contribute and have fun at the same time by paying RM300, RM500 or RM1,000 for a ride in a supercar that will be driven by experienced drivers for a full 3 laps at the Sepang circuit. Other than the supercars rides, there will be an exhibition of supercars, photo sessions, merchandise sales and a special race session of the supercars at the end of the event.

I’ll be there on Sunday between 2pm – 6pm driving a Lotus Exige S. So if anyone interested to have a ride , pls email me at djandrift@gmail.com

It’s RM300 for those interested. We have total 10 slots available for taxi rides.

I did a video shoot yesterday for TV3 at Elite Track, Subang. It was for the TV program “Maria Talk Show” hosted by Maria Tunku Sabri. They had a talent for the “Help Me Maria” segment and she had a fear for speed. So I was brought in to fulfill her request of experiencing drifting first hand & over coming her fears. The program will be aired in April.

We brought out the 86 out cause we were still facing engine misfiring & tire supply issues for the Silvia. It was a good test session since we will be using the 86 for the Bangkok drift event. Definitely no short of dramas!
