Perak Drift Challenge
We just got back from Kampung Gajah, Perak. Basically the team’s last test session before the start of 2008 season. We made some changes to the suspension setup on the Silvia which has improved lateral grip. Mid-corner speed is now as fast as the 86. Though I had to change my driving style to be able to maximize the potential of the Silvia. It’s quite different as it has power but also more weight. Overall, I’m very happy with the out come of our testing session. There’s still room for improvement definitely, but we have made a huge step in the right direction.
Perak Drift Challenge @ Dato’ Sagor Race Track was actually cancelled due to bad weather and possible flooding. But after talks with the organizers, I managed to persuade them to have an open track session for those interested. I guess the only risk was that it would rain and maybe have to learn to drift in speed boats. But, everything turned out well, and we had a mini competition among friends just to make the trip worth while. It gave me good opportunity to test the car in tandem battles.
