Tomorrow will be the team’s final outing before we head to the states for the world championship. Since the 86 is currently on it’s way to California, we will be testing our new D1 machine for 2008.
We did some testing a couple of weeks ago @ Kampung Gajah Circuit. Still many suspension issues to iron out. The car currently lacks rear end grip (what do you expect, 500Hp & weighs in at 1100kg).
We’ve made some major changes to suspension geometry on the rear axle to increase the tire contact patch area on the 265 rear tires & added a rear diffuser, courtesy of “Monster Garage”, Ipoh. Thanks guys!
We hope to make considerable progress this weekend. We target to carry the same amount of cornering speed as the 86. Not going to be easy, but definately achievable.
Overall, we’re very happy with the car. Drivability and performance is next to none. Definately a breeze to drift compared to the 86 due to the raw horsepower.
